Brian McLaughlin, the President of Advisor Technology at Orion Advisor Solutions, is leaving his position effective September 27. McLaughlin, who has been a prominent figure in the wealthtech industry for over 20 years, will transition to an advisory role with the company for the remainder of the year, assisting Orion’s CEO Natalie Wolfsen.
McLaughlin, 48, is known for co-founding Redtail Technology in 2003, a leading CRM software developer in the financial services sector. His departure from his role at Orion marks a significant shift as he plans to take a break from the industry to focus on personal time with family and friends.
During this transition period, McLaughlin’s direct reports will report to Wolfsen, who took over as CEO last September following the retirement of Eric Clarke.
Although McLaughlin is stepping down from his executive role, he will retain his stake in Orion and continue to serve on the company’s board of directors. His ongoing role as an advisor to the CEO is expected to provide continuity during the leadership transition.
