First Official Glimpse by Google: Google has issued official renders of the whole Pixel 10 series in the form of a new banner in the Google Play Store app. The series comprises the base Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This confirms all of the big models before the official release.
Although the banner is not yet fully visible to everyone, its existence validates Google’s branding and color options for the new phones.
Color Options and Visual Highlights: The standard Pixel 10 comes in a rich Indigo color, a bright and bold blue that contrasts with the more subdued tones of the other models.
The Pro phones sport an unbroken Moonstone finish, a pale gray-blue on the Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold. Rumors also abound about a Jade green Pro Fold, bringing some color to the mix.
What’s New Regarding the Pixel 10
Some changes distinguish the Pixel 10 as an improvement.
For the first time, the standard model receives a triple-camera camera system, featuring a telephoto lens, previously only found in the Pro series.
The camera system should feature a 48 MP primary sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10.8 MP telephoto lens. These should be similar to those in the Pixel 9a and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The camera bar has also been increased in size with bigger glass to accommodate the third lens and keep the familiar look.
Dimensions, Pricing, and Timeline
Google has set the date of its “Made by Google” event on August 20, 2025, when the new phones will be unveiled officially.
Pre-orders are likely to be launched the same day, with the shipments beginning around August 28.
Early promotional banners are hinting at a $50 price reduction on orders placed before October 13.
Size-wise, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are almost identical to their Pixel 9 equivalents but a hair thicker at about 8.6 mm. The Pro XL is the same size as last year’s model but slightly heavier at about 232 g. The Pro Fold has also added a gram and some thickness.
What This All Means
Google is honing but not remaking. All but the major improvements on the camera setup and perhaps software remain from the Pixel 9 series.
Having the standard Pixel 10 available in assertive colors such as Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello is done for the users wanting a more expressive look, with the Pro models maintaining subtle finishes for a more professional appearance.
Adding a telephoto lens to the baseline Pixel 10 tightens the hardware differential between budget and premium models. But the smaller sensors could still generate enough difference in camera performance to make up for the price differentials.
The big unveil is just weeks off. With renders and initial details already released, the vast majority of mystery revolves around pricing, software updates (particularly surrounding AI and Pixel Sense), and how these translate to real-world usage.
Mark August 20 in your calendar. The next Pixel installment is just around the corner.
